Job Description

Restaurant Associates is a prominent dining and event catering provider specializing in delivering exceptional experiences for some of the nation's most prestigious museums, performing arts centers, and corporations. Recognized as one of Glassdoor's Employee Choice Awards - Best Places to Work, Restaurant Associates is a member of Compass Group USA, a global leader in foodservice and support services. The company is committed to fostering a culture of inclusivity and excellence, treating all employees and applicants based on merit without discrimination. With a robust benefits package and a dedication to creating enriching workplace environments, Restaurant Associates continuously strives to set industry standards in hospitality and catering service.

The Food & Beverage Manager position at La Mercerie, an innovative restaurant conceptualized by the design firm Roman and Williams, represents an extraordinary opportunity to engage deeply with the intersection of hospitality, design, and culture. La Mercerie is not a traditional restaurant but part of a larger ecosystem that seamlessly blends dining, retail, and craftsmanship through the adjacent Roman and Williams Guild. The role emphasizes curating a refined beverage program that reflects both French gastronomy's artistry and international wine culture's vibrancy. At La Mercerie, the beverage experience extends beyond simple service; it encompasses storytelling, craftsmanship, and meticulous design — from a carefully selected French wine list to artisanal cocktails served in handcrafted glassware.

This role demands a visionary Food & Beverage Manager capable of maintaining operational precision while inspiring innovation and creativity. The successful candidate will steward the beverage program's daily operations and long-term development, ensuring every beverage pour, pairing, and guest interaction speaks to an elevated hospitality standard. The manager will work closely with culinary and service teams to integrate the beverage program with seasonal menus and the broader cultural ambiance of La Mercerie, cultivating an experience that intertwines flavor, design, and narrative.

The Food & Beverage Manager will also maintain an active presence on the floor, engaging guests and delivering expert recommendations while mentoring and training front-of-house staff. Managing inventory, vendor relationships, and cost control is a critical component to ensure profitability and sustainability. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in wine and beverages—especially Old World wines with an emphasis on French regions—paired with a passion for storytelling and guest service excellence. Sommelier certification or equivalent experience is highly valued, although not mandatory.

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000, along with comprehensive benefits. The role is an excellent fit for a leader who thrives in a luxury hospitality environment and who desires to contribute meaningfully to a distinctive dining concept within an industry-leading company. Restaurant Associates prioritizes fairness, equality, and professional growth, welcoming candidates from all backgrounds to apply and join their dynamic team.
