This opportunity is for the role of Food Transporter/Delivery Driver, a key position within the logistics and operations team at Fresh 2U. The position is part-time with shifts and schedule details provided upon interviewing, ensuring flexibility accommodating to various lifestyle needs. The Food Transporter/Delivery Driver is responsible for the secure and timely transportation of food, supplies, and other crucial products to designated units and service areas using company vehicles. Their duties encompass coordinating closely with staging clerks to pick up and verify orders, loading and unloading items in a manner compliant with safety regulations, and maintaining the sanitary conditions required when handling food items. This role demands a high level of responsibility in terms of inventory control, ensuring that production orders are complete and properly managed from pick-up to delivery.

Employees in this role also play an essential part in upholding service standards through attentive customer interactions and adherence to company policies related to food safety and equipment maintenance. Routine checks and upkeep of delivery vehicles are part of the daily responsibilities, ensuring operational readiness and safety on the road. This position is ideal for individuals with previous experience in food delivery or transport, possessing a valid driver’s license and, where applicable, a food handler’s permit, demonstrating compliance with state and local regulations.

  • Must have a valid state driver’s license
  • Must have a valid food handler’s permit where required

Job Duties

  • Picks up requisitioned supplies from staging clerk
  • Receives completed production orders from staging clerk
  • Inventories items to ensure completion of production orders
  • Loads orders onto truck with assistance of staging clerks in a safe, orderly manner
  • Unloads requisitioned materials at delivery site
  • Follows sanitation and safety guidelines when handling food and equipment
  • Ensures hot and cold food items are kept in compliance with company standards and meet all sanitation and safety requirements
  • Collects empty containers and rejected or unsold merchandise
  • Responsible for general cleanliness of assigned vehicle
  • Performs routine maintenance on truck
  • Interacts with coworkers to ensure company service standards
  • Provides quality customer service via one-on-one attention to detail
  • Performs other duties as assigned
