The organization emphasizes building skills, confidence, and resilience by fostering a network of support tailored to meet diverse needs across all age groups. Specializing in comprehensive programs and services, RFK Community Alliance takes pride in its inclusive culture that promotes equity, empowers leadership, and nurtures growth among its team members and community members alike.

The Food Services/Cook position within RFK Community Alliance is a full-time role designed to support the culinary and dining operations on campus. This role is essential in ensuring the seamless flow of kitchen activities, combining responsibilities of food receiving, preparation, and dishwashing. Working Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, this position offers a competitive hourly wage range of $21.50 - $23.00, providing reliable compensation designed to attract dedicated and dependable candidates who thrive in a team-oriented environment.

As a Food Services/Cook, the successful candidate will manage several key culinary functions. Taking charge of receiving duties, they will handle vendor and campus deliveries promptly and ensure that food items are stored correctly using the First In, First Out (FIFO) method to maintain optimum quality and food safety. The role requires careful inspection of deliveries for accuracy and quality, monitoring inventory levels, and coordinating timely deliveries for various campus events such as residential dinners, daily lunches, weekend culinary provisions, and catering requests. Participation in monthly food procurement activities at the Worcester County Food Bank is an integral component of this responsibility.

In the preparatory domain, the Food Services/Cook assists with crafting scratch and speed-scratch menu items, supporting weekend menus, catering functions, and special campus events, stepping in as a backup cook for team members when necessary. The dishwashing duties include ensuring kitchenware, pots, and pans are scraped, rinsed, sanitized, and stored properly, alongside maintaining cleanliness and organization of dishwashing areas. Maintaining sanitizer concentrations and temperatures and managing trash disposal effectively are vital components of maintaining a hygienic kitchen environment.

RFK Community Alliance’s Food Services/Cook role demands a commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace culture united by respect for diversity in ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, abilities, and other identities. The organization’s explicit dedication to equity and inclusion means candidates will be joining a company that supports employees to express their authentic selves, contribute meaningfully to the community, and participate in a vibrant, diverse workplace. They believe that cultivating such an environment strengthens team collaboration and effectiveness in serving their clientele.

In addition to a meaningful job role, RFK Community Alliance offers an impressive benefits package. Employees enjoy health, dental, and vision insurance; generous paid time off; holiday pay; educational assistance programs; life insurance; short-term and long-term disability coverage; a retirement plan with employer match; tuition reimbursement; and access to a comprehensive employee assistance program. This superior benefits offering highlights the organization’s commitment to employee wellness, professional growth, and financial security.
