The Food Service Worker/Cashier position at Chartwells K12 is based at KIPP New Orleans Schools, located at 7701 Grant Street, New Orleans, LA 70126. This is a part-time employment opportunity with a schedule of Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The position offers an hourly wage range of $11.95 to $12.40. Job Requirements

Prior food service experience preferred
Ability to perform cashier duties accurately
Ability to maintain sanitation standards
Ability to work Monday through Friday part-time from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Ability to interact positively with customers
Ability to follow safety procedures in food preparation and service
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying food trays
Willingness to undergo background screening as required
Ability to comply with company policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables
Weigh and measure designated ingredients
Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards
Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment
Store foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating, and food safety and rotation procedures
Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils
Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements
Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control
Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service
Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner
Relay relevant information to supervisor
Perform sales transactions
Enter sales into the cash register to ensure accurate purchase recording
Make change, accept declining balance cards and other acceptable payment forms
Issue receipts to customers
Follow standard procedures for issuing cash refunds
Responsible for all assigned change funds and cash receipts ensuring drawer compliance with overage/shortage standards
Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness
Perform other duties as assigned
