The Food Service Worker position at Aramark involves assisting the manager in various food service tasks including food and meal preparation, maintaining cash receipts and meal records, and supporting the completion of daily operational reports. This role demands a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality in food production alongside strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and kitchen safety protocols. The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing quality food and baked goods according to planned menus while ensuring that all meals are stored and served in a sanitary, timely, and visually appealing manner. Additional duties include cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and work areas, monitoring food temperatures, and assisting with major cleaning tasks such as refrigerators, freezers, and steam tables.
This position requires physical stamina to perform duties such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods. It also may require wearing uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met. Candidates for this role should be able to work effectively under pressure, follow both verbal and written instructions, and demonstrate good communication skills to coordinate with management and team members. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food service preferred
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Physical ability to perform job duties including lifting and standing for long periods
- Willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- Food service certificate as needed
- Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure
Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- Understand what is inclusive of a meal
- Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Adhere to the uniform policy
- Connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- Supervise the food temperature requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, and ware washing
- Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- Meet physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing
- Use personal protective equipment as required
