Baptist Health is the region's largest not-for-profit healthcare organization, renowned for its comprehensive network of 12 hospitals, over 29,000 employees, 4,500 physicians, and 200 outpatient centers, urgent care facilities, and physician practices spanning Miami-Dade, Monroe, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. With a dedication to medical excellence rooted in a faith-based mission, Baptist Health boasts internationally recognized centers of excellence in cancer, cardiovascular care, orthopedics and sports medicine, and neurosciences. The organization’s commitment to quality care and compassion has earned it a distinguished place in the healthcare industry, highlighted by its recognition as one of Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For over the past 26 years. Moreover, Baptist Health was the most awarded healthcare system in South Florida in the 2025-2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospital Rankings, securing 63 high-performing honors.
At Baptist Health, the culture is deeply grounded in connecting with people — colleagues, patients, and their families — creating meaningful relationships that extend beyond standard healthcare services. The shared experiences of staff and patients alike foster an environment rich in empathy and a vibrant purpose-driven workplace. The organization emphasizes the importance of every team member’s role in delivering compassionate care and continuously improving patient outcomes. Baptist Health is not just a healthcare provider; it is a community where employees grow personally and professionally. It supports this growth via a "grow our own" philosophy, emphasizing career development, clear advancement pathways, and ongoing learning opportunities.
This particular role is essential to the smooth operation of patient services within the healthcare system, focusing on food preparation, delivery, and customer service to patients and guests. As a Patient Meal Delivery and Food Service Specialist, the incumbent is responsible for preparing, assembling, and delivering patient meals while adhering strictly to quality, safety, and infection control standards. Responsibilities include replenishing supplies, serving guests with positive customer relations, maintaining sanitation practices, and performing dish room duties. The specialist plays a vital role in ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction by supporting the high-quality food preparation and service standards of Baptist Health.
This position requires the ability to work independently and the flexibility to perform a wide array of food service functions, often cross-training to assist and train others in the department. Additional duties involve handling food sales transactions, setting up meals for corporate retail, catering functions, and other dining outlets, as well as decorating buffet and reception tables as needed. The role embodies a multi-faceted connection to the safety and comfort of patients and guests alike, underscoring the organization's commitment to holistic care.
The position offers an estimated pay range of $16.00 to $19.49 per hour depending on experience, reflecting Baptist Health's commitment to fair compensation. This is an outstanding opportunity for individuals with a passion for healthcare service and food safety who are looking to contribute to a leading healthcare system recognized for excellence and compassion, where they can grow and thrive in a supportive environment. Baptist Health encourages diversity and is an equal opportunity employer, including for individuals with disabilities and veterans.
