The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is integral to maintaining high standards in food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety within various dining environments. This position involves a blend of hands-on food preparation and support duties that ensure efficient operations in the kitchen. The Food Service Worker assists the manager with meal preparation, maintains accurate cash receipts and meal records, and helps complete daily reports, thereby ensuring smooth service delivery. This position requires dedication to quality and sanitation, keen attention to detail in food handling, and compliance with food safety regulations. The employee will be responsible for preparing quality food and baked goods based on planned menus, making sure all meals meet both customer expectations and departmental policies.

Beyond food preparation, this role also includes tasks such as understanding meal components, ensuring proper and sanitary food storage, serving food according to schedules, and utilizing kitchen equipment safely and correctly, with particular emphasis on knives and other potentially hazardous tools. The Food Service Worker also contributes to the cleanliness and maintenance of the kitchen by coordinating major cleaning efforts for refrigerators, freezers, and cooking equipment as well as adhering to uniform policies. Strong collaboration with the manager is essential to accurately prepare daily menus and supervise food temperature requirements to meet regulatory standards.

Physical demands of this role can include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing. The role may require wearing uniforms and using personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous food service experience helpful but not required
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • physical capability for lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling
  • ability to adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment as required

Job Qualifications

  • Food service certificate as needed
  • sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages
  • add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, ware washing
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • follow physical safety procedures and usage of personal protective equipment
