The Food Service Worker position at Aramark is an essential role that supports daily food preparation and quality assurance in meal service operations. This role offers both part-time and full-time seasonal opportunities, with a particular need for weekend availability from May through August. Compensation ranges from $17.00 to $18.00 per hour, reflecting Aramark's commitment to providing competitive wages within the industry.

As a Food Service Worker, you will work closely with the manager to prepare and serve meals, maintain food safety and sanitation standards, and uphold kitchen safety procedures. Your responsibilities will include preparing quality food and baked goods according to planned menus, maintaining accurate meal records and cash receipts, and assisting with daily reporting. This position requires careful attention to detail, especially in handling food storage, cooking, and serving equipment, ensuring all operations adhere to established food safety regulations. Physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, and extended periods of standing or walking are part of the role, and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and uniforms is required.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience in food service or meal preparation helpful
  • ability to work weekends from May to August
  • capability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods
  • comply with uniform and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation regulations
  • good communication and teamwork skills

Job Qualifications

  • Food Service Certificate as needed
  • sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • be able to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items and beverages
  • add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment including sweeping, mopping, and ware washing
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • comply with physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
