Job Requirements

  • Ability to follow oral and written instruction and establish procedures
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior
  • Fire life safety training (LA City) if no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date required within LA City only

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to follow oral and written instruction and establish procedures
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior
  • High school or equivalent or some experience in hospitality services, nutrition and dietary services, customer service within food industry, or food services
  • Certification - job relevant Certified Food Handler Certificate or equivalent ServSafe Certificate preferred
  • Active involvement with professional food service organization preferred

Job Duties

  • Assist management in recording refrigerator and freezer temperature logs and reports inappropriate temperatures to supervisor or manager
  • Coordinates work flow and sets up and serves patient trays in accordance with established schedules and procedures
  • Verifies patient Kardex is filled out and complete compared to active diet list
  • Leads other in and assists with preparations of early and late trays
  • Establishes and maintains interpersonal relationship with patients, visitors and other hospital personnel while assuring confidentiality of patient information
  • Refills breakfast carts and serves breakfast to patients on floors
  • Notifies Registered Dietitian of any patient complaints and or concerns
  • Assists management with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies
  • Verifies and completes all cleaning assignments
  • Pulls items needed for patient meals
  • Performs all other duties as related or assigned
