Job Description

Baptist Health stands as the region's largest not-for-profit healthcare organization, distinguished by its comprehensive network which includes 12 hospitals, over 29,000 employees, 4,500 physicians, and approximately 200 outpatient centers, urgent care facilities, and physician practices spanning across Miami-Dade, Monroe, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Renowned for its internationally acclaimed centers of excellence in specialized areas such as cancer treatment, cardiovascular care, orthopedics, sports medicine, and neurosciences, Baptist Health operates under a faith-based mission rooted in medical excellence and compassion. Supported by philanthropy, the system is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered healthcare services, and its commitment has earned it continual recognition, including being named one of Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For for 26 years and the most awarded healthcare system in South Florida according to the 2025-2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospital Rankings with 63 high-performing honors.

What truly distinguishes Baptist Health is its exceptional people. The organization cultivates a culture built on strong personal connections among colleagues, extending beyond the professional environment, and meaningful relationships with patients and their families that transcend typical care delivery. Many team members share personal experiences with health challenges, fostering a culture of empathy, compassion, and dedication to superior care. This strong sense of community and shared purpose drives Baptist Health’s commitment to its faith-based mission and to making a positive impact on the lives of those served.

At Baptist Health, the focus on employees is paramount, emphasizing both personal and professional support through a "grow our own" philosophy. This approach encourages team members to develop long-term, fulfilling careers within the organization through career growth and development opportunities, comprehensive health and wellness resources beyond conventional benefits, a wellness program that may eliminate medical plan deductibles, tuition reimbursement for continued learning, and many more supportive initiatives. These benefits are a testament to Baptist Health’s commitment to its workforce, ensuring that employees are well-equipped to succeed and contribute to the healthcare system’s ongoing excellence.

The role of Food Service Worker at Baptist Health is integral to maintaining the high standards of patient care and safety that the organization is known for. This position involves preparing, assembling, and delivering patient meals while strictly adhering to quality, service, infection control, and food safety standards. Food Service Workers not only contribute to patient satisfaction by ensuring timely and accurate meal delivery but also support the overall hospital environment by managing stock supplies for patient floor kitchens, replenishing used foods and supplies, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation. Additionally, this role includes various cashier responsibilities such as collecting payments for guest trays and handling food sales transactions in the cafeteria.

Employees in this position also support dining services for corporate retail, catering, and specialized dining outlets like the Doctors Dining Room. Responsibilities extend to setting up meals, decorating buffets and reception tables as assigned, and performing dish room duties daily. The role is multifaceted, with a strong emphasis on customer service skills and interpersonal communication to enhance guest relations and ensure a positive dining experience. The estimated pay range for this position is between $16.00 and $19.49 per hour, depending on experience. This role offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a leading healthcare organization committed to both patient care excellence and employee development.
