The position available is that of a Patient Food Service Worker, focused on preparing, assembling, and delivering patient meals while adhering to strict standards of quality, service, infection control, and food safety. This role includes delivering stock supplies to patient floor kitchens and serving guests with a strong emphasis on positive customer relations. The employee will also replenish used food and supplies, complete sanitation duties, perform dish room tasks, and handle transactions for food sales as a cashier in the cafeteria. Additional responsibilities include setting up and serving meals for corporate retail, catering events, the Doctors Dining Room, and other dining outlets, as well as decorating buffet and reception tables as assigned.

This role is crucial for ensuring that patients, staff, and guests receive high-quality food service and a positive dining experience. The position requires independence in fulfilling various food service functions and cross-training in related responsibilities, including supporting the training of other team members. The estimated pay range for this position is $16.00 to $19.49 per hour, dependent on experience. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food safety certification required within 90 days of job entry
  • Excellent customer service skills required

  • Two years of experience in food and nutrition preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare, assemble, and deliver patient meals in accordance with quality, service, infection control, and food safety standards
  • Deliver stock supplies to the patient floor kitchens
  • Serve guests, maintaining positive customer/guest relations
  • Appropriately replenish used foods and supplies
  • Complete sanitation duties
  • Perform dish room duties as assigned, daily
  • Collect payments for guest trays
  • Handle transactions for food sales in the cafeteria as a cashier in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Set up and serve meals for corporate retail, catering, Doctors Dining Room, and other dining outlets
  • Decorate buffet and reception tables as assigned
  • Perform all functions independently and provide cross-training support to others
