This specific role is integral to the patient care and hospitality experience at Baptist Health. The position involves preparing, assembling, and delivering patient meals while adhering to strict quality, service, infection control, and food safety standards. The successful candidate will ensure prompt meal delivery to patient floors, maintain stock supplies, serve guests with professionalism, and uphold sanitation protocols. Additional responsibilities include performing dish room duties, collecting payments for guest trays, handling food sales transactions in the cafeteria, setting up and serving meals in multiple dining venues, and contributing to the overall satisfaction and comfort of patients and guests. Attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and adherence to food safety regulations are critical in this role.

The estimated pay range for this position is $16.00 to $18.38 per hour based on experience. Job Requirements

  • High School diploma, certificate of attendance, certificate of completion, GED or equivalent training or experience required
  • Food Safety Certification required within 90 days of job entry
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Less than 1 year of experience

Job Duties

  • Prepare, assemble and deliver patient meals in accordance with quality, service, infection control and food safety standards
  • Deliver stock supplies to the patient floor kitchens
  • Serve guests maintaining positive customer/guest relations
  • Appropriately replenish used foods and supplies
  • Complete sanitation duties
  • Perform dish room duties as assigned daily
  • Collect payments for guest trays
  • Handle transactions for food sales in the cafeteria as a cashier in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Set up and serve meals for corporate retail, catering, Doctors Dining Room and other dining outlets
  • Decorate buffet and reception tables as assigned
  • Follow all aspects of high quality food preparation and service or support coworkers efficiently to do so
  • Ensure safety, comfort and overall satisfaction of customers
