The Food Service Supervisor role at Aramark is a full-time supervisory position that offers a unique opportunity to step up your career in a passionate and mission-driven food services team. Reporting directly to a manager, the Food Service Supervisor plays a critical role in leading daily food service operations, overseeing staff, and ensuring the delivery of safe and high-quality meals to customers. In this role, you will be responsible for directing daily activities, producing work schedules, managing production sheets and recipes, and ensuring all food items are stored safely and served according to menu specifications. Maintaining a hazard-free and sanitary environment in compliance with health and safety codes is essential. In addition, you will oversee inventory management, equipment maintenance logs, and completion of food safety and temperature logs with appropriate corrective actions. The role requires multitasking proficiency and the flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends for catered events.

As a mentor and trainer, the Food Service Supervisor supports the growth, efficiency, morale, and teamwork of food service staff by providing guidance and performance evaluations. You will also fill in for absent employees as needed and help maintain communication between office and food service teams. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food service or supervisory roles preferred
  • ability to read, write, and understand verbal and written instructions
  • completion or willingness to complete a sanitation course
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to maintain emotional control under stress
  • basic arithmetic skills
  • ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a team environment
  • flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform lifting tasks

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Produce and maintain work schedules and may prepare production packets
  • direct daily activities
  • maintain food production that ensures the safety and quality of food according to policies, procedures, and department requirements
  • ensure that food items are stored in a safe, organized, and hazard-free environment
  • maintain all serving schedules
  • ensure that all food items are served per menu specifications in a safe and appropriate manner following Aramark policies and procedures
  • maintain a sanitary department following health and safety codes and regulations
  • maintain accurate inventory on a weekly basis
  • may prepare orders as needed to ensure accurate production for location
  • supervise and evaluate employees
  • counsel
  • promote employee growth, efficiency, morale, and teamwork
  • maintain a safe and hazard-free working environment
  • train/mentor other food service workers
  • maintain logs on all maintenance required on equipment within the department
  • ensure all food safety/temperature logs are completed with appropriate corrective action, as necessary
  • perform preventative maintenance checklist
  • recommend replacement of existing equipment to meet needs of facility
  • proficiency in multi-tasking
  • perform other duties as requested by the Food Service Director or Manager whenever his/her skill and/or experience would be vital to initiate, coordinate, or complete any given program
  • must fill in for absent employees at location, as necessary
  • maintain knowledge of daily catering events and confirm they are prepared and delivered on time
  • be able to work occasional night and weekend catered events
  • attend food service meetings with staff
  • maintain communication with staff (including office staff, e-mail, phone calls, inter-office mail, etc)
  • may perform cashier duties as the need arises
  • promote good public relations
