Job Requirements
- high school diploma preferred but not required
- 1+ years of experience in a physically active role or on your feet for multiple hours
- ability to lift, bend, pull, push, and twist
- ability to understand food recipes and safe handling practices
- working knowledge of kitchen and food production procedures
- ability to operate kitchen equipment, tools, and utensils
- ability to perform basic math skills
- ability to work under pressure in a team setting
- willingness to work according to an academic calendar including possible Saturdays
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma preferred but not required
- 1+ years of experience in a physically active role or standing for extended periods
- food handler’s permit preferred
- ability to understand and follow food recipes and safety procedures
- basic math skills for portioning food
- experience working in a team environment
- ability to adapt quickly to changing tasks
- strong work ethic and reliability
Job Duties
- prepare food in appropriate quantities according to recipes and guidelines
- cut and chop fruits and vegetables
- monitor students during meal periods for appropriate behavior and encourage healthy eating habits
- adhere to kitchen safety and sanitation practices
- clean kitchen area including sweeping, mopping, wiping tables, washing dishes, and disposing of trash
- operate kitchen equipment and utensils safely
- move cafeteria tables and manage garbage disposal as required
