Job Description

Personal Touch Food Service, Inc. is a reputable and well-established food service company that specializes in providing high-quality culinary experiences in educational settings and various institutional accounts. With years of expertise in menu planning, kitchen operations, and client-focused food service, Personal Touch Food Service, Inc. has cemented its place as an industry leader dedicated to delivering nutritious, delicious, and innovative meals. The company prides itself on fostering a supportive and dynamic work environment that nurtures growth, leadership, and excellence among its employees, from culinary professionals to management-level roles. By emphasizing collaboration, creativity, and quality, Personal Touch Food Service, Inc. ensures its teams consistently exceed client expectations while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and operational efficiency.

The Manager in Training position at Personal Touch Food Service, Inc. offers a unique and exciting opportunity for culinary-trained professionals ready to transition into leadership roles within the food service industry. This role is designed as an immersive, hands-on management development program aimed at equipping motivated individuals with the skills, knowledge, and confidence required to successfully lead food service operations. Over a 90 to 180-day rotational program, candidates will experience comprehensive training across all facets of the business, ranging from kitchen production and menu development to staff supervision and client relationship management. Working alongside seasoned food service leaders, the Manager in Training will gain invaluable insight into daily operational challenges and strategies for optimizing kitchen workflows, ensuring food quality, and exceeding client satisfaction.

As a full-time role active during the school year, the position offers a consistent and predictable schedule aligned specifically with educational food service accounts. This stability provides a conducive environment for trainees to focus on mastering diverse skill sets needed for management, including scheduling, coaching, running pre-shift meetings, culinary creativity, and business operations such as cost control and vendor coordination. The program also emphasizes developing leadership qualities that foster positive team cultures and promote collaboration among staff. Trainees will be encouraged to contribute fresh ideas, support themed events, and drive innovations that reflect current food trends, ensuring that each dining experience remains exciting and client-focused.

In addition to operational and culinary duties, the Manager in Training will build strong partnerships with on-site client contacts, learning how to effectively respond to feedback and manage labor and food costs to meet budgetary expectations. With an emphasis on hands-on learning and professional growth, this role serves as a direct pathway to becoming a confident and capable manager responsible for operating food service accounts independently. It promises a rewarding career trajectory for passionate individuals eager to grow within a company committed to their success.
