Job Description
Aramark is a global leader in food service, facilities management, and uniform services, operating in 15 countries and serving millions of guests daily. Rooted in service and united by a strong sense of purpose, Aramark is dedicated to doing great things for its employees, clients, communities, and the planet. The company emphasizes equal employment opportunity, fostering an inclusive environment free from discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender, pregnancy, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, military status, veteran status, or other protected characteristics. Aramark believes a career should develop talents, fuel passions, and empower professional growth, providing employees with challenging opportunities and a great place to work.
The Food Service Manager position at Aramark is a key management role responsible for overseeing dining operations where customers order prepared foods from a menu. This role involves developing and implementing dining solutions tailored to meet customer needs and preferences, ensuring high-quality service and food safety standards are consistently maintained. The Food Service Manager is charged with leading a team using Aramark's coaching model to engage and develop team members, rewarding and recognizing good performance to maximize individual and team potential. Daily responsibilities include planning and leading team briefings, maintaining safety and sanitation standards, and ensuring that both individual and team performance align with company objectives and client expectations.
In addition to leadership duties, the Food Service Manager acts as a liaison with clients to identify their needs and communicate operational progress effectively. Financial performance is a critical focus, with responsibilities including the completion and maintenance of profit and loss statements, delivering financial targets for the client and company, and adopting Aramark’s operational processes and systems. The manager must understand performance metrics, data trends, order management, and inventory controls, educating the team on key levers to improve margins and operational efficiency.
This role also entails ensuring productivity by applying cost controls, profit management techniques, and operational excellence fundamentals such as meeting food and labor initiatives. Training and supervisory duties require the Food Service Manager to ensure that the entire team is skilled and able to implement operational standards relating to production quality and control. Compliance with all policies, rules, and regulations—especially those related to safety, health, and labor laws—is a critical responsibility to maintain a safe, healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees.
Additional duties include leading the front-of-house operations for dining facilities such as cafeterias or residential dining, coordinating food service activities to deliver a finished product that meets customer satisfaction. The manager works in conjunction with the Food Service Director to maintain seamless operations. At Aramark, adaptability and continuous development are encouraged, and job duties may evolve to meet organizational commitments and improve service delivery.
Overall, this position offers a career opportunity to develop leadership, operational, and customer service skills within a respected multinational company committed to sustainability, diversity, and employee growth. The ideal candidate will bring experience in food service management and a passion for providing excellent customer experiences while fostering a positive team environment.
