This role, Assistant General Manager of Dining Services, is an exciting managerial opportunity at Lantern Hill where you will lead a team of dedicated dining professionals to ensure exceptional mealtime experiences for residents. As the Assistant General Manager, you will oversee the operations of the dining room, café, kitchen, catering areas, and related services. Your responsibilities will include the scheduling, training, hiring, coaching, and development of employees, ensuring food quality, presentation, and service meet the established standards. The position requires close collaboration with the Registered Clinical Dietitian to meet residents' nutritional needs and enhance satisfaction. The role demands a strong focus on maintaining cleanliness, compliance with safety and company policies, and fostering a culture of excellence.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in dining room management, service, and sanitation, with up to 1 year of dietetics experience substituted
  • Current Serv-Safe certification or state-specific equivalent preferred
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Experience working in a continuing care environment
  • Compliance with specific state regulations and requirements
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion policies

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in dining room management, service, and sanitation
  • Proven ability to supervise multiple venues and manage large teams
  • Experience working in a continuing care environment
  • Knowledge of food safety standards such as Serv-Safe certification or state-specific equivalent preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and support staff
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Oversee the scheduling, training, hiring, coaching, and development of all employees in the restaurant, café, and supervisory positions
  • Ensure that food is properly portioned, plates are attractively presented, and service meets established standards
  • Supervise the cleanliness and organization of the restaurant, kitchen, storage areas, and loading dock
  • Ensure that dining staff complies with safety regulations and adheres to all company policies and procedures
  • Participate in programs and activities designed to enhance employee and resident satisfaction
  • Work closely with the Registered Clinical Dietitian
  • Manage multiple venues and large teams effectively
