Rooted in service and united by a purpose, Aramark's mission is to do great things for their partners, clients, and the planet while fostering a culture of equal employment opportunity and inclusivity.
The Food Service Manager role at Aramark is a pivotal management position responsible for overseeing dining operations where customers order prepared foods from a menu. As a Food Service Manager, you will lead and develop a team using Aramark's coaching model to ensure high performance and engagement. Your leadership responsibilities include rewarding and recognizing employees, conducting daily team briefings, and maintaining safety and sanitation standards in all operations.
In addition to team leadership, the role requires managing client relationships by identifying client needs and communicating operational progress effectively. You will also be accountable for financial performance by ensuring completion and maintenance of profit and loss (P&L) statements, delivering on client and company financial targets, and educating teams on key performance metrics to improve operational margins. Productivity management is critical in this role, including cost control, profit management, and meeting food and labor initiatives under the Operational Excellence fundamentals.
Compliance with all applicable policies, rules, and regulations is essential to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees. As a Food Service Manager, you will also lead front-of-house dining operations, including cafeterias or residential dining facilities, in partnership with the Food Service Director. Planning, directing, and coordinating food service activities to deliver an exceptional finished product to customers is a fundamental part of the job.
Working at Aramark means committing to professional growth and development, embracing challenges, and striving for excellence. The company supports its employees through a dynamic work environment where roles and responsibilities may evolve to meet operational demands and continuously improve service delivery. This position demands strong interpersonal skills, the ability to maintain effective client and customer rapport, and a dedication to quality customer service using Aramark’s standard service model. Physical requirements include the capacity to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
