As an established name in the energy and retail sectors, CrossAmerica Partners operates numerous convenience stores, integrates fuel distribution, and aims at delivering exemplary customer service. Their commitment to quality and operational excellence has made them a trusted partner in the convenience and fuel retail industry.

The Food Service Shift Lead role at Burger King under CrossAmerica Partners is a dynamic position that requires a thorough understanding of food service operations within the fast-paced convenience store environment. This role is pivotal in supervising daily food service operations during assigned shifts, ensuring the kitchen runs efficiently, food quality and safety standards are met, and excellent customer service is consistently delivered. The position begins at a competitive hourly wage of $15, with payment on a weekly basis and offers flexible schedules including morning, afternoon, and evening shifts.

In this leadership role, the Shift Lead is responsible for managing a team of kitchen staff, delegating tasks efficiently especially during peak periods, and ensuring that all food items meet the company’s strict quality criteria. They play an essential role in enforcing compliance with local health codes and food safety regulations and overseeing the cleanliness and operational standards of the kitchen and food preparation areas. The role demands someone with strong communication skills to address and resolve customer inquiries or issues promptly and professionally, contributing to a positive customer experience.

Operational efficiency and administrative diligence are critical components of the job. The Shift Lead is tasked with managing workflow, prioritizing duties, reducing food waste, and completing detailed shift reports covering sales, inventory, staff performance, and operational challenges. Additionally, cash handling and assisting with closing duties may be required.

Health and safety compliance is a vital aspect of the role. The Shift Lead must ensure that the kitchen and food service areas are consistently sanitary and meet inspection standards. They are also responsible for training staff in safety protocols, including proper use of equipment and safe handling of hazardous materials.

Continuous improvement philosophies are encouraged, with the Shift Lead expected to provide performance feedback to team members and identify efficiencies or enhancements in food quality, service, and overall operations.

Candidates should have at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with experience in the food service industry preferred, particularly in high-volume, fast-paced kitchen settings. Familiarity with food safety regulations and inventory control is essential. Skills such as leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities are important to succeed in this role. Additional certifications like Food Handler or ServSafe are advantageous.

Physically, the role requires an ability to stand for extended periods, lift products up to 50 lbs, perform tasks requiring bending, squatting, and reaching, and work in varied temperature environments. The role can involve emergency situations and working alone, so adaptability and resilience are key.

CrossAmerica Partners offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees, including health insurance, paid vacation, holiday pay, 401K with employer match, and more.
