Aramark Healthcare is currently seeking a dynamic Food Service Director to lead the dining operations at Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, TX. This is a bonus eligible position offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance. In this leadership role, the Food Service Director will be responsible for driving the success of patient-focused food service solutions in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The role requires overseeing all aspects of dining services, including team leadership, operational excellence, and enhancing the overall customer and patient experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for building strong teams, optimizing operations, and creating exceptional dining experiences that align with Aramark Healthcare’s standards.

As Food Service Director, you will lead, mentor, and engage teams through recruiting, training, and performance management to maximize their contributions. Ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards is a critical part of the role, as is building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, hospital stakeholders, and internal teams. The position entails managing financial performance by overseeing budgets, cost controls related to food, beverage, and labor, and ensuring P&L statements' accuracy.

Productivity and operational efficiency are key focuses, with responsibilities including implementing labor and food initiatives, directing production and food service operations, and sustaining full compliance with operational excellence fundamentals. The Food Service Director will also maintain safe and healthy environments compliant with all applicable policies and regulations. This leadership role demands a results-driven approach to managing front-of-house operations, menu planning, inventory, and staff development. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as Food Service Director or similar senior leadership role
  • 2-5 years experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Nutrition, Business or related field or equivalent operational leadership experience
  • Proven track record of enhancing patient satisfaction through food quality and service
  • Strong financial management skills including budgeting and cost control
  • Excellent communication skills with clients and internal teams
  • Ability to lead large teams in fast-paced healthcare or food service settings
  • Commitment to excellent customer service and operational standards
  • Skill in building cross-functional partnerships

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Food Service Director or similar senior leadership role

Job Duties

  • Lead, mentor, engage and develop teams including recruiting, assessing, training, coaching and managing performance

  • Direct operations related to production, distribution and food service

  • Establish and maintain systems for ordering, receiving, storing, preparing and serving food-related products
  • Develop operational forecasts, explain variances and manage accounting functions
  • Coordinate and supervise personnel related to production, merchandising, quality, cost control, labor management and employee training
  • Recruit, hire, develop and retain frontline team members
  • Conduct periodic inventories
  • Maintain records for compliance with Aramark and regulatory standards
  • Interact and maintain effective client and customer relationships
  • Participate in sales process and contract negotiations
  • Identify opportunities for new products and services
  • Manage front-of-house dining operations including cafeteria and residential dining
  • Develop and implement food service plans aligned with client mission and vision
