Job Description

Job Requirements

  • Prior food service or cashier work experience
  • Ability to follow directions, read and communicate in English
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, school administrators and other Food & Nutrition service-related personnel
  • Computer skills as required for the position
  • A standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development Testing Program is preferred
  • Valid Florida driver’s license is preferred
  • Bilingual skills are preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Prior food service or cashier work experience
  • Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, school administrators, and other Food & Nutrition service personnel
  • Basic computer skills as required for the position
  • Preferred standard high school diploma or GED
  • Valid Florida driver’s license
  • Bilingual skills preferred

Job Duties

  • Follow daily work schedules for food production, service, and cleaning
  • Participate in ongoing state-approved training and educational initiatives relating to Food & Nutrition Services
  • Demonstrate and promote exceptional customer service with good judgment and professionalism
  • Operate point of sale according to federal guidelines when assigned
  • Adhere to food safety rules, departmental procedures, and HACCP to ensure a safe work environment
  • Perform kitchen duties including pre-preparation, food production, service, backup, cleanup, and check-in orders
  • Assist with ordering, proper storage, and inventories for all supplies and food items received
  • Follow written recipes and instructions for food preparation and record the time, amounts, and temperature on production worksheets
  • Operate food service equipment safely
  • Maintain a clean work environment by removing and disposing of garbage properly
  • Ensure sanitation practices are adhered to, including personal hygiene and grooming standards
  • Drive vans and refrigerated/freezer trucks between sites for food delivery and maintenance
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or designee
