Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous cooking experience required
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Knowledge of food safety protocols
  • Basic math skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Physical ability to perform kitchen tasks
  • Willingness to follow safety and sanitary procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Knowledge of food preparation principles
  • Understanding of various cooking methods
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations including handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Ability to obtain food safety certification
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Physical capability to perform job duties including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook food items according to established production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Organize work area with necessary equipment and ingredients
  • Measure, weigh, mix, chop, trim, and peel food items for ingredient preparation
  • Handle kitchen utensils safely, including knives
  • Operate kitchen machinery such as ovens, cooking appliances, slicing tools, and mixing devices
  • Use various cooking methods including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming to prepare a diverse selection of foods
  • Portion and garnish food according to standards
  • Follow food safety protocols for storage and sanitation
  • Sterilize and clean workspaces, equipment, and tools
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive demeanor
  • Adhere to company safety policies and food safety regulations
  • Protect company property and maintain a secure work environment
