The role of Food Service Associate / Deli Clerk at Global Partners is an essential part of the store's daily operations, specifically focused on the deli and food service areas. This position involves ensuring a high standard of sanitation, maintaining store appearance, and providing excellent customer service, all of which contribute to a top-tier shopping experience for guests. The Food Service Associate is responsible for handling cash register transactions accurately, learning to operate various equipment such as scales, scanners, and credit terminals, and familiarizing themselves with store signage and product codes. Additionally, this role requires the preparation, wrapping, slicing, weighing, and stocking of deli and food service products while strictly observing quality and safety standards.
Candidates in this role will be working with a variety of deli ingredients including meats, vegetables, fruits, spices, nuts, sauces, and oils. Safety is a priority as associates will handle sharp slicers, ovens, and other equipment used in preparing deli items. The position also involves taking guest orders, ensuring timely completion and guest satisfaction. The work is physically demanding and requires standing for extended periods, bending and twisting, lifting goods of up to 25 pounds, and maneuvering around walk-in coolers and freezers. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and assist other locations when needed is also expected.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 16 years old
- Two years foodservice or retail management experience
- Reliable transportation and active driver’s license
- Serv-safe certification preferred
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Work in walk-in coolers and freezers
- Stand for long periods bend and twist below waist
- Frequently lift and maneuver merchandise and supplies
- Dexterous enough to use knives slicers burners ovens fryers and rotisseries safely
- Flexibility to work weekend holiday and evening shifts and assist other locations as needed
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Process cash register transactions giving back change and refunds
- Learn to use register scales scanners and debit credit terminals
- Learn to use UPC codes store signage and memorize register keys and codes
- Read UPC codes product labels shelf signage register forms and company policies procedures
- Work with deli ingredients including meats vegetables fruits spices nuts flavorings sauces and oils
- Use scale printer machines ensuring weights and pricing are correct
- Monitor product pricing signage and placement using product shelf tags and shelf signage
- Keep clean neat and orderly check stand sales counter and work production areas
- Prepare wrap box weigh slice and stock deli food service products rotating as necessary
- Prepare and cook deli and food service items including fried foods salads sandwiches roller grill items hot and cold beverages prepared meals and snack items
- Work safely with sharp slicers tools ovens and burners
- Display products following deli department or merchandising guidelines
- Take guest orders ensuring orders are completed on time and to guest satisfaction
- Perform other duties assigned by Store Manager
