Located in various communities across the United States, their schools serve diverse populations and are committed to inclusivity, safety, and excellence in education. The Dallas Lakewood campus, situated at 1234 Abrams Road, Dallas, TX, is a vibrant community hub where students receive nutritious meals and comprehensive support to thrive academically and socially. Employing a committed team of educators and support staff, Bezos Academy fosters a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration to ensure every child experiences a nurturing and inspiring preschool journey.

The Food Service Assistant role at Bezos Academy Dallas Lakewood is a vital part-time position that plays an essential role in maintaining the health and wellbeing of the children through nutritious and compliant meal services. Starting as early as August 2026, the position requires a commitment of 25 hours per week, with shifts running Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. This role is hourly and non-exempt, offering competitive pay between $21 and $31 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. The upper range of compensation is generally reserved for those with longstanding service and proven performance. Benefits include paid sick (care) time accrued based on hours worked and access to a 401(k) plan with a 4% employer match, further enhancing the overall compensation package.

In this role, the Food Service Assistant will take full ownership of the kitchen and food operations at the school. Responsibilities include managing all aspects of food preparation with keen attention to detail, organization, and adherence to safety protocols. The assistant will prepare Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)-compliant menus, place food orders, manage food costs efficiently, receive and verify food deliveries, and ensure timely meal delivery to classrooms. The role demands strict compliance with USDA regulations, local childcare standards, and Bezos Academy policies to create a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment.

Beyond kitchen duties, the Food Service Assistant supports school operations through inventory management, laundry assistance, and ad hoc tasks as needed. Occasionally, the assistant may provide direct supervision and support inside the classrooms, contributing to a positive and structured learning environment. This multifaceted role requires a proactive approach, a strong team spirit, and an unwavering commitment to improving school processes and experiences for children and staff alike. The position is ideal for those passionate about food service, child development, and contributing meaningfully to an educational setting dedicated to nurturing young minds.
