The role of a Food Server at Aramark is essential to the smooth operation of kitchen and dining functions. Food Servers provide crucial support to managers by engaging directly in meal preparation, food service, cash receipt management, and meticulous record-keeping of meals served. This role embraces both culinary skills and customer service competencies to ensure that meals meet high standards of quality and presentation. Food Servers are responsible for following predetermined menus to produce top-tier meals and baked goods while also ensuring food storage adheres to safety and flavor preservation guidelines. They work closely with managers daily to coordinate meal schedules and communicate updates regarding food transactions and inventory.

Additionally, Food Servers at Aramark must adhere strictly to food safety legislation, including sanitation protocols, proper food handling, and temperature monitoring to ensure the safety and satisfaction of all guests. Beyond food preparation and distribution, they contribute significantly to maintaining a clean and organized workspace through routine cleaning tasks involving kitchen facilities, waste management, and equipment maintenance. The position demands physical activity such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods along with wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as dictated by safety standards.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Food service certification
  • Experience in food preparation and handling preferred
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, bend, push, and pull as required
  • Willingness to comply with uniform and PPE policies
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to food safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • Food service certification
  • Satisfactory education or training enabling interpretation, writing, and tracking of verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure by completing tasks quickly and accurately
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Duties

  • Produce top-tier meals and baked goods following a predetermined menu
  • Compile a daily update to authenticate transactions and record meal arrangements
  • Understand what constitutes a complete meal and check for the presence of all necessary components
  • Store food accurately to preserve flavor and nutrients
  • Distribute meals to diners according to prescribed meal schedules and policies
  • Operate and maintain food preparation tools, especially cutting tools
  • Ensure efficient and timely assembly of various food items and beverages
  • Enhance visual appeal of food by incorporating garnishes
  • Assist with cleaning refrigerators, freezers, and kitchen facilities
  • Abide by food safety legislation including sanitation, handling, and storage guidelines
  • Adhere to uniform policy requirements
  • Liaise daily with manager to understand and execute the day’s menu
  • Monitor food temperatures to ensure safety
  • Keep work and storage areas clean and organized
  • Sanitize workspaces regularly to prevent contamination
  • Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing
  • Maintain cleanliness and order of garbage collection sites and kitchen floors
  • Complete supplementary tasks including backing up other kitchen zones as needed
