The Food Safety Specialist role is designed to support hotel, restaurant, and grocery clients in maintaining their brand’s food safety and quality standards. This full-time position involves conducting audits and assessments crucial to ensuring compliance with regulatory, industry, and proprietary brand standards. The specialist’s work helps clients uphold exceptional food quality while delivering a customer-centric experience. This role also entails coaching clients on improving workplace safety and sanitation, thereby contributing to safer consumer environments. The position demands regular travel—approximately 50 to 70 percent of the time, equating to 8-10 days per month, including evenings and weekends—to various client sites. Candidates will engage in inspecting food preparation and cooking practices, investigating food safety incidents, ensuring documentation is accurate, and providing clear constructive feedback. Strong technical knowledge of food safety standards is preferred, along with excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills. Candidates must be able to work autonomously and adapt to a flexible work schedule.

Job Requirements
- Meet the requirements to obtain a CP-FS certification
- Available to work Monday through Friday and weekends as needed
- Must possess a valid driver’s license from state of residence
- Hold licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations
- Strong knowledge of food safety is preferred
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Conduct assessments that measure conformity to established regulatory, industry, and proprietary brand standards for clients
- Observe food preparation and cooking standards to ensure food safety, health, and sanitation practices
- Partner with clients to address root causes of assessment discrepancies and develop corrective action plans
- Teach and coach clients to make their workplaces safer and healthier environments
- Travel 50-70 percent of the time, including evenings and weekends
- Conduct audits and inspections
- Implement and monitor food safety procedures
- Train and educate client staff
- Investigate food safety incidents
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations
- Maintain documentation and records
- Provide clear and constructive feedback in a positive manner
