The restaurant’s design blends a warm, modern-rustic aesthetic with a focus on sustainability and local sourcing, reflecting Philadelphia’s dynamic energy. Urban Farmer partners with local farms, ranches, and fisheries to craft a menu that emphasizes sustainable ingredients and simple preparations, highlighting the true flavors of the region. The beverage program includes a curated selection of Pennsylvania craft beers, cocktails made with local spirits, and a vibrant wine list featuring regional vineyards, enhancing every dining experience. On the ninth floor above the city, the Assembly Rooftop Lounge offers guests breathtaking views of iconic Philadelphia landmarks such as Logan Square and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway leading to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This stylish rooftop space combines panoramic city views with a lively atmosphere, serving sparkling cocktails, champagne, and creating a chic urban social environment.
The role at Urban Farmer Philadelphia focuses on delivering exceptional food service that meets the highest standards of quality and presentation. The position is regular part-time and involves responsibilities crucial to maintaining the restaurant’s reputation for outstanding hospitality. The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely delivery of food orders, ensuring each plate adheres to the establishment’s rigorous quality standards including taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, garnish, and overall presentation. This role requires maintaining comprehensive knowledge of the restaurant layout, including tables, seats, and stations, as well as operational hours, proper table set-up, and dress code compliance. Candidates will also be expected to uphold all departmental policies and service procedures while demonstrating a thorough understanding of all liquor brands, wines, beers, non-alcoholic selections, glassware, and garnishes used in the restaurant. Strict adherence to state liquor laws, especially those concerning service to minors, intoxicated guests, and drunk driving prevention is mandatory. Beyond food service, this position requires familiarity with the use and maintenance of restaurant equipment and point-of-sale (P.O.S.) systems. Teamwork is essential, as the associate will support other employees and departments to enhance overall departmental and hotel performance. This role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift, push, pull, and carry weights up to 50 pounds, stand continuously during shifts, and move across the restaurant regularly.
