Job Description
Wood Ranch is a renowned restaurant chain specializing in high-quality barbeque and American cuisine. Known for its warm and inviting atmosphere, Wood Ranch prides itself on delivering exceptional dining experiences marked by attentive service, flavorful dishes, and a welcoming ambience. The company places strong emphasis on maintaining the highest standards of food quality and guest satisfaction, which has earned it a loyal customer base and a respected reputation in the hospitality industry.
The Food Runner position at Wood Ranch is integral to the efficient operation of the restaurant and essential for ensuring a positive guest experience. This role focuses on delivering food orders promptly and accurately from the kitchen to guests’ tables while adhering strictly to Wood Ranch standards. The Food Runner supports both the front-of-house and back-of-house teams by maintaining cleanliness and organization in the expo line, managing order tickets, and facilitating clear communication with culinary staff. This position requires someone who is proactive and responsive to anticipating and fulfilling guests’ needs, helping to ensure that every guest receives their meal correctly and in a timely manner.
As a Food Runner, you will play a key part in upholding food quality and service standards. This includes mastering the use of Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) systems and recipe viewers to track orders and modifications accurately. You will communicate actively with the Culinary Team and Window Manager to coordinate food orders and address any special modifications or remakes. Additionally, this role demands careful attention to safety and cleanliness protocols, assisting in team pre-bussing responsibilities, and supporting other team members when needed.
The role also extends to responsible alcohol service following all local, state, and federal guidelines for safe alcohol consumption. Serving guests professionally and with a friendly demeanor is paramount, as is maintaining personal hygiene and workplace sanitation standards. Physical stamina is required to stand, move, and carry plates, trays, or items weighing up to 30 pounds during long shifts with potentially unpredictable hours.
Wood Ranch offers a minimum wage salary with gratuities, positioning this role as an entry-level opportunity with substantial room to learn, grow, and become a valued team member within a vibrant restaurant environment. Overall, the Food Runner position at Wood Ranch is an exciting opportunity for individuals eager to work in a fast-paced, customer-oriented setting where their efforts directly contribute to guests’ dining satisfaction and overall restaurant success.
