Job Description

The hiring establishment is a vibrant dining venue known for its commitment to providing exceptional family-style service, a welcoming atmosphere, and a dedication to inclusivity through its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) culture. This establishment values excellence not only in food quality but also in guest interaction, making it a popular choice for both locals and visitors seeking a memorable dining experience. As a key player in the hospitality industry, this restaurant upholds high standards of service that align with its mission and vision to create a safe, enjoyable, and engaging environment for guests and staff alike.

The role of the Food Runner is vital to the smooth operation of the dining service. This position is designed for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. Food Runners act as crucial links between the kitchen and the guests, ensuring that food orders are delivered quickly and accurately while maintaining impeccable standards of cleanliness and safety in the dining area. The role requires excellent communication skills as the Food Runner must effectively convey important information from the chefs to the guests, including any modifications to food items or menu inquiries. Maintaining the dining area's presentation by setting tables, removing courses promptly, replenishing utensils, and attending to guest needs such as spills or special requests is a key component of the job.

Adhering to sanitation and safety policies is critical to protecting both the establishment and its patrons. This includes serving food at proper temperatures and closing the dining area each shift by cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming, and waste management. The Food Runner embodies the establishment's core values and family-style service philosophy, contributing to an environment where guests feel valued and at home. The job also involves participating actively in the DEI culture, reinforcing an atmosphere of respect and inclusion among staff and guests.

The employer values flexibility as schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and potential overtime to meet operational needs.
