The Food/Beverage Runner role at Palms is integral to maintaining the seamless flow of service within the dining areas by providing prompt and courteous tableside service. Reporting to the Assistant Manager and/or General Manager, this position requires the individual to be knowledgeable about the menu offerings and able to effectively communicate details about the dishes to guests with accuracy and enthusiasm. The runner plays a crucial role in expediting food orders from the kitchen to guests, ensuring that each dish is delivered in accordance with the sequence of service and the kitchen’s directives. Attention to cleanliness, organization, and guest satisfaction are paramount, as the role involves maintaining the presentation of dining tables, checking chairs and stations for cleanliness, and supporting management in operations. Additionally, the Food/Beverage Runner must be adaptable to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, while consistently demonstrating excellent customer service and teamwork skills. The role also includes responsibilities oriented toward health and safety, particularly in response to public health emergencies, underscoring the company’s commitment to a safe and secure dining experience. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months experience in a high-volume dining restaurant as a food runner or server preferred
- Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast paced team-oriented environment
- Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts
- Ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of food and menu preparation
- Experience working in a similar resort setting

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months experience in a high-volume dining restaurant as a food runner or server preferred
- Fine dining and three meal restaurant experience preferred
- Experience working in a similar resort setting
- Equivalent combination of education and progressive relevant and direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational experience requirements indicated above
- Demonstrated experience developing department goals and action plans in accordance with property and overall company goals
Job Duties
- Greet guest in a positive friendly manner making them feel welcome
- Expedite food from the kitchen to the table as dictated by sequence of service and by the Chef or kitchen expeditor
- Describe food upon placement on the table answering questions pertaining to the dishes
- Describe menu features as needed include changes and additions
- Communicate with expeditor to ensure delivery of food to the correct table and position
- Perform assigned open and closing side-work
- Communicate needs of the guest to kitchen and management inform management of guest reaction and comments and assist management to ensure smooth operation and quality service
