The Food Runner role at MacArthur Place plays an essential part in ensuring the smooth operation and high standard of service within the resort's restaurant, bar, and event venues. This position requires professionalism, efficiency, and a keen attention to detail to deliver meals promptly and accurately, adhering to the resort's luxury standards of presentation and quality. The Food Runner serves as a vital link between the kitchen staff and service team including servers and bartenders, facilitating a seamless flow of food delivery that enhances guest satisfaction. Additionally, this role demands strong communication and customer service skills to meet guests' needs actively and courteously, including accommodating special dietary requests such as allergies. This position is offered on both a full-time and part-time basis, with a compensation rate starting at $18.4705 per hour. Job Duties
- Deliver meals promptly and accurately, ensuring proper presentation, temperature, and plating meet MacArthur Place luxury standards
- coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to maintain smooth service flow and timely delivery of all food items
- engage courteously with guests, answer menu questions, make suggestions, and ensure dietary restrictions, allergies, and special requests are handled appropriately
- escalate concerns to management and culinary leaders as needed
- respond promptly to guest inquiries and support servers by delivering additional condiments, utensils, beverages, or other guest requests
- assist with tray assembly, table setups, and service for special events, banquets, or room service
- maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tables, and service stations
- restock trays, utensils, condiments, and supplies
- follow all food safety, sanitation, and allergen-handling guidelines to ensure guest safety and regulatory compliance
- monitor the dining environment for safety hazards, including spills, hot plates, or obstacles, and take corrective action
- perform pre-shift duties, including setting up stations, preparing trays/utensils, checking supplies, and ensuring the dining area is ready for service
- perform post-shift duties, including cleaning service areas, storing supplies, restocking for the next shift, and assisting with inventory checks
- collaborate with team members during peak service periods to ensure timely delivery and a seamless guest experience
- maintain a polished appearance and professional demeanor at all times, adhering to grooming, uniform, and conduct standards
- follow timekeeping, attendance, meal, and rest break policies in accordance with California labor laws
- uphold MacArthur Place's luxury service standards and commitment to hospitality excellence
- perform other duties as assigned
