The Food Quality Assurance Supervisor role at SkyChefs is pivotal in maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality across the facility. This on-site supervisory position is responsible for implementing, monitoring, inspecting, and verifying food safety and quality control systems within the Customer Service Center. The supervisor ensures all products comply with FDA, USDA, customer, and corporate standards by overseeing critical control points, preventative control programs, and regulatory documentation. Key tasks include food safety training, recordkeeping, audit preparation, and leading investigations to resolve safety issues. The role demands leadership skills to foster effective teamwork, communicate standards clearly, and support corrective actions to safeguard product integrity. A successful supervisor will have expertise in HACCP plans, preventive controls, GMP, and relevant food safety legislation. Strong organizational capabilities and experience with both manual and digital management systems are essential. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, food microbiology, chemistry, biology, engineering or relevant field preferred
  • Certification as Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) and knowledge of HACCP highly preferred
  • One to three years of experience in food safety required
  • Proven analytical and leadership skills required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Ability to lead and develop teams to achieve goals and budgets
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), FDA, USDA and HACCP regulations required
  • Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills required
  • Collaborative leadership style required
  • Proficiency in computer skills including technology (scanners, tablets etc.) and Microsoft Office programs and cloud-based systems required

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, customer specifications and other regulatory and corporate food safety standards
  • Monitor and verify the effectiveness of food safety programs and recordkeeping
  • Oversee food safety CCPs, oPRPs, and PRPs, and conduct routine tests as defined by food safety and quality program
  • Provide food safety training and ensure its effectiveness
  • Maintain and verify food safety monitoring records
  • Support inspection/audit readiness and manage external food safety, quality, and sanitation inspections/audits
  • Assist department leadership in food safety investigations and report findings
  • Conduct periodic quality checks and document processes for improvements
  • Foster effective working relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Support leadership in implementing corrective actions and provide reports to management
  • Document and input data into the food safety and quality management system
  • Insert monthly data in the company web-based portal
  • Update food safety manuals and maintain relevant documents
