The current opening is for the Food Quality Assurance Coordinator role at the Portland, USA location. This on-site position offers a competitive hourly salary ranging from $17.56 to $26.67. The Food Quality Assurance Coordinator holds a critical role in ensuring that all food production and handling practices align with strict food safety and regulatory standards, including FDA, USDA, HACCP, and SkyChefs’ own Global Quality Standards (GQS). This role is vital in preserving a safe, clean, and audit-ready environment to uphold the company’s reputation for excellence.
The Food Quality Assurance Coordinator will conduct internal hygiene audits, monitor sanitation and food handling processes, and verify temperature controls and documentation adherence. They serve as a key trainer and resource person for team members on topics related to quality, hygiene, and food safety, empowering staff to maintain top-notch standards. The role also involves preparing comprehensive reports and presentations for leadership teams, supporting root-cause investigations for quality issues, and coordinating corrective actions to prevent issues from recurring.
Successful candidates will collaborate closely with operations, culinary, and other departments to maintain high-quality production standards and foster a positive and safety-oriented workplace culture. Job Requirements
- Experience in food manufacturing or quality assurance
- Knowledge of FDA, USDA, HACCP, sanitation standards
- Proven ability to conduct audits and inspections

- High school diploma or equivalent
Job Qualifications
- Experience in food manufacturing, food safety, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance

- Confidence in delivering training, presentations, and cross-functional communication
- Strong attention to detail and ability to lead or support audits and inspections

Job Duties
- Ensuring full compliance with FDA, USDA, HACCP, and company food safety standards
- Conducting GQS Internal Hygiene Process Audits to support continuous improvement
- Monitoring sanitation, food handling, temperature control, and documentation practices
- Leading training sessions on quality, hygiene, and food safety topics
- Preparing clear, effective presentations and reports for leadership and cross-functional teams
- Supporting root-cause investigations and corrective action plans
- Partnering closely with Operations, Culinary, and other internal teams to maintain high-quality production standards
