The supervisor’s primary responsibility centers on managing the preparation, assembly, and quality control of all cold food products during production periods. In this capacity, the supervisor guides a frontline team to ensure efficient workflow, strict adherence to production schedules, and compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.

This role demands a leader who can enforce customer specifications with precision while fostering a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement. Supervisory responsibilities extend to organizing the production area, staffing appropriately, and meeting delivery timelines. The supervisor conducts daily team meetings, manages staffing schedules to meet labor productivity and overtime goals, and ensures full compliance with governmental regulations including FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, and HACCP standards.

As a key figure in operations, the Food Production Operations Supervisor at LSG Sky Chefs will document departmental processes for ongoing enhancements and uphold safety regulations to protect both employees and product quality. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in food production or related industry preferred
  • Ability to work on-site in Minneapolis location
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of government regulatory standards such as FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, and HACCP
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage schedules and productivity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Job Qualifications

  • 2+ years supervisory experience working in a high volume manufacturing, food production, restaurant or catering environment or equivalent experience in the related field preferred
  • Leadership skills with an understanding of the process of manufactured food
  • Experience leading a team of 30+ union hourly workers per shift preferred
  • Problem solving and leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to develop and lead others to obtain desired results and achieve productivity goals
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), FDA, USDA and EPA regulations
  • Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications

Job Duties

  • Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed and that all delivery times are being met timely
  • Conduct daily work group meetings
  • Schedule and control staff to meet labor productivity and overtime targets
  • Ensure compliance with all government regulatory agencies standards (FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, HACCP)
  • Document and follow up on all department processes to implement improvements
  • Ensure on-time and accurate production and/or catering of all flights
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety regulations
  • Guide, motivate and develop staff within the Human Resources policies
  • Make the company’s values and management principles live in the department(s)
  • Manage productivity hours and costs in the area of responsibility
  • Initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations
  • Participate and support company sponsored initiatives such as Quality, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety and Production systems
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary
