We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Prep Cook to join our culinary team. This role is essential in supporting the kitchen's smooth operation by assisting in the preparation of meals and ensuring all ingredients are ready according to our quality criteria. The Prep Cook will work closely under the guidance of the Chef or Head Cook, preparing ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting vegetables, and measuring components to facilitate cooking. They will also operate various kitchen equipment, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, complying with all food safety and sanitation regulations, and helping manage inventory and stock rotation. This position suits individuals passionate about cooking and food preparation, eager to grow their culinary skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Basic knowledge of food safety practices
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks involved in food preparation
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including day and night shifts
  • Must be able to commute to San Jose, CA 95116
  • Must be willing to relocate to San Jose before starting work

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a culinary or food preparation role preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of basic food handling and preparation techniques
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and measuring ingredients
  • Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to prepare meals according to established standards
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, mixers and hot water machine
  • Assist in the cooking of various dishes under the supervision of the Chef or Head Cook
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas including refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service
  • Help with inventory management and stock rotation
