The Food Operations Supervisor role at SkyChefs is a critical leadership position based in Portland, USA. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in food production, manufacturing, distribution or related fields
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • knowledge of food safety regulations including HACCP, OSHA, USDA
  • excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • ability to manage schedules, inventory, and labor costs effectively
  • physical ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • willingness to work on-site in Portland, USA

Job Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience with 2+ years as a supervisor in food production, manufacturing, distribution, or meal prep facilities
  • hands-on management style comfortable engaging directly with staff and resolving issues in real time
  • operational expertise skilled in scheduling, inventory management, labor planning, and production flow
  • industry knowledge in airline catering, meal kit production, or large-scale food operations preferred
  • regulatory awareness including familiarity with HACCP, OSHA, USDA, FDA, and allergen control protocols
  • prior experience supervising in a unionized environment is a plus

Job Duties

  • Lead with purpose: guide, motivate, and develop your team to consistently meet and exceed performance goals
  • drive production excellence: ensure meals are prepped, portioned, and assembled to gold standard specifications including FIFO, allergen control, HACCP compliance, quality checks with scales and sample plates

  • optimize operations: manage schedules, labor productivity, and costs to ensure efficiency in a fast-paced production environment

  • collaborate across teams: partner with fellow supervisors, production leads, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless operations
