Job Description
Torchy's Tacos originated in Austin, Texas in 2006 and has since grown from a humble food trailer to a beloved nationwide restaurant chain acclaimed for its innovative, high-quality tacos and vibrant culture. The company prides itself on serving the best damn tacos with fresh ingredients while maintaining a fun, inclusive, and passionate work environment for its Team Members. Torchy's commitment to excellence and community has fueled its expansion and reputation as a go-to spot for flavorful, handcrafted Mexican street food. Known for its bold flavors and creative menu, Torchy's brings a unique dining experience to each location, complemented by friendly, attentive staff dedicated to customer satisfaction. As a rapidly growing restaurant group, Torchy's offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits for full-time employees, and opportunities for professional growth in the hospitality industry.
The Food Expeditor at Torchy's is a vital position focused on ensuring the smooth operation of orders from kitchen to table, guaranteeing accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to the brand’s high standards. This role bridges the gap between the kitchen staff and service team by carefully verifying orders, managing ticket flow, and maintaining station organization and cleanliness. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates keen attention to detail, and possess excellent communication skills to handle special dietary needs and allergy concerns safely. Their responsibilities include quality control for all dishes before delivery, proper station setup and breakdown, accurate food portioning, and consistent cleanliness to uphold food safety and efficiency throughout the shift.
Employees in this role are expected to meet state and local food handler certification requirements and have the physical capability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40 pounds, and perform tasks requiring bending and reaching. Previous food service experience is preferred but not mandatory, as comprehensive training and support are provided. Flexibility in work schedules to accommodate the restaurant’s operational needs is essential. Compensation for the Food Expeditor starts between $10.00 to $12.00 per hour based on experience, supplemented by pooled tips, boosting overall earnings. Team Members also benefit from a generous discount on Torchy’s delicious menu items for themselves and their spouses and access to full health benefits and a 401(k) plan after meeting tenure requirements. Paid time off is available after one year of employment, along with additional support through the Torchy's Family Foundation in times of hardship.
Joining Torchy's as a Food Expeditor means becoming part of a vibrant team that values quality, speed, and a fun working atmosphere. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about the food industry who aspire to contribute to a highly regarded restaurant brand while enjoying career development opportunities and employee-centered perks. A day in the life involves fast-paced multitasking, precise food handling, and interaction with team members and guests to deliver a memorable dining experience consistently. Torchy's encourages enthusiasm and teamwork, making it a rewarding place to build a career in hospitality.
