Space Needle LLC and Center Art LLC/Chihuly Garden and Glass operate some of Seattle's most iconic food and beverage venues, including Tip Top Pies, walk-up wine bars, Loupe Lounge, The Bar at Chihuly Garden and Glass, and various event spaces. The Food and Beverage Manager role is a full-time, hourly position, offering a competitive salary range of $35 to $42 per hour depending on experience. This position is essential for overseeing all aspects of the food and beverage operations across multiple venues within the Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass areas. The manager is responsible for maximizing revenue potential while ensuring cost-efficient operations and maintaining outstanding guest satisfaction that exceeds expectations at every touchpoint.

In this leadership role, the manager collaborates closely with various teams, including culinary, service, and events departments, to uphold brand promises and organizational goals. They are charged with maintaining quality assurance standards for service and products, managing staffing levels, and promoting a safe and healthy work environment for all team members. The manager also applies a deep knowledge of cost controls, labor laws, union contracts, and Fair Labor Practices to effectively lead and develop their teams. This role demands a professional who exhibits integrity, discretion, humility, accountability, and teamwork in their daily interactions and management style.

The manager's duties are broad and impactful, covering operations management of restaurants and lounges, coordination with event teams to meet company standards at events, and continuous quality improvement through addressing guest feedback. Their involvement extends to enforcing OSHA and WISHA safety standards, handling labor contracts comprehensively, and maintaining a flexible work schedule that includes work during peak events, nights, weekends, and holidays. This position is critical in ensuring that every operational aspect runs smoothly and aligns with the organization's vision for growth and excellence.

Candidates for this role must bring at least five years of experience managing high-volume food and beverage operations, particularly with financial accountability in food, beverage, and service areas. They should possess significant wine and mixology expertise, uphold exceptional communication skills, and demonstrate proficiency with computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Guest Bridge, and Micros systems. Leadership qualities are paramount, including the ability to motivate, teach, and manage a diverse team professionally and effectively. Physical requirements include the ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds with or without accommodation.

Job Duties

  • Responsible for operations of restaurants and lounges at Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass
  • collaborate and assist with Event department to ensure company standards are consistently met for all events
  • maintain quality assurance standards for service and all food and beverage products
  • manage staffing levels to guarantee quality in product, service, and presentation while maximizing revenue growth
  • promote a safe, healthy work environment for all food and beverage staff members
  • maintain and use knowledge of cost controls
  • apply public relations skills to ensure guest satisfaction
