Job Description
Courtyard by Marriott, located in Orlando, FL, is part of Marriott International's globally recognized portfolio known for delivering high-quality hospitality experiences. This hotel offers guests comfortable accommodations, modern amenities, and exceptional customer service to create memorable stays. As a reputable establishment within the hotel and restaurant sector, Courtyard by Marriott embodies Marriott's commitment to excellence, innovation, and guest satisfaction. The hotel facilities include dining options that emphasize freshness, quality, and diverse menu selections to cater to a broad range of tastes and preferences. The food and beverage operations are a vital part of the guest experience, contributing to the overall ambiance and satisfaction.
The Food & Beverage Supervisor role at Courtyard by Marriott represents a dynamic and engaging opportunity within the restaurant-food service category. This full-time position operates during various shifts to ensure smooth floor leadership throughout service hours. The hourly salary range of $21.00 to $23.00 reflects a competitive compensation structure designed to attract skilled hospitality professionals. The supervisor acts as the working lead on the floor, responsible for coaching team members, maintaining service standards, ensuring cleanliness, and managing the pace of operations efficiently. This role is pivotal in delivering outstanding guest experiences through direct oversight and support. Responsibilities include handling guest recovery efforts, supporting ongoing staff training, safeguarding cash and POS processes, and collaborating closely with culinary and bar teams to maintain profitable and seamless service delivery.
Key aspects of the position involve leading pre-shift meetings, setting sections and side-work, greeting VIP guests, monitoring pacing and ticket times, and ensuring polished and consistent service presentation. The supervisor also ensures compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and responsible alcohol service protocols. Monitoring financial performance by controlling labor costs, check averages, upselling efforts, and safeguarding POS accuracy are important facets of this role. In addition, the supervisor supports bar operations by verifying drink specifications, managing inventory levels, and coordinating with bartenders. Event and private dining management, including reviewing banquet event orders and assisting during on-site execution, may also be part of the responsibilities. Effective communication, clear reporting, and diligent follow-ups on maintenance and incident reporting ensure operational integrity.
The role demands a blend of leadership, hospitality acumen, operational expertise, and a guest-first mindset. Candidates will ideally have 1 to 3 years of experience in restaurant or hotel food and beverage environments, with preference given to those with supervisory experience. Essential certifications include a Food Handler permit, with ServSafe Manager and alcohol service certifications preferred. The job requires flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands include the ability to stand or walk for an entire shift, lift up to 40 pounds, and work in varying temperature environments. Employees benefit from a supportive work culture that values professional development, offers health benefits, retirement plans, competitive pay, and employee discounts. Courtyard by Marriott and Performance Hospitality Management strongly emphasize diversity, equity, and inclusion as fundamental to their workplace philosophy and employment practices.
