Job Description
Bobby Jones Links, established in 2000 and based in Atlanta, Georgia, is a distinguished club management and development company specializing in serving a diverse range of golf courses, including private, resort, daily fee, and public courses. The company is deeply committed to delivering exceptional experiences for members, guests, and employees, embodying core values such as Making People Happy, Doing What You Say, Striving for Excellence, Being Driven, and Growing Every Day. These principles not only shape the corporate culture but also drive the company’s continued success in the competitive world of golf and club management. Inspired by Bobby Jones's philosophy, "The secret of golf is to turn three shots into two," the company applies the same pursuit of excellence to all aspects of its operations.
Hope Valley Country Club, managed by Bobby Jones Links and located in Durham, North Carolina, is an elite private club renowned for its classic Donald Ross designed golf course, state-of-the-art tennis facilities, resort-style pool complex, and spacious clubhouse. Established in 1926, Hope Valley offers its members a premium recreational experience combining first-class dining, sports, and social programming. Situated in the heart of one of the Southeast’s most vibrant and exciting areas, the club emphasizes a welcoming atmosphere and superior member service.
The Food and Beverage Server position at Hope Valley Country Club plays a critical role in delivering the high standard of service that members and guests have come to expect. This position involves presenting menus, answering questions, and making informed recommendations to enhance the dining experience. Servers will use the point-of-sale system to manage orders accurately and efficiently, participate in pre-meal meetings to stay informed about menu changes or special events, and maintain open communication with supervisors to address any member concerns.
Attention to detail and commitment to safety are essential in this role, as servers are responsible for cash handling accuracy and must adhere to safe food handling practices and work safety standards. The position also requires completion of side work such as stocking service stations, rolling silverware, clearing and cleaning tables, and ensuring the overall cleanliness of the dining area. Physical stamina is required as the role involves walking, standing for extended periods, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, and working in a lively, sometimes noisy environment.
Candidates for this role must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages, possess all necessary certifications and licenses mandated by local Health Department and Alcoholic Beverage Commission statutes, and comply with company policies and legal regulations regarding alcohol service. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality to join a prestigious club with a longstanding tradition of excellence and to contribute to creating memorable experiences for clientele in a vibrant community setting.
