The Sales and Marketing Associate position at JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America is a full-time, non-management role offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $19.74 to $20.35, with the added benefit of being tip eligible. This role is integral to the sales department and involves preparing sales-related documents such as proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders throughout the sales process. The associate will promote brand awareness both internally and externally, ensuring the Marriott image is consistently upheld. Responsibilities include gathering and assembling informational materials, executing sales techniques designed to maximize revenue while maintaining guest loyalty, and assisting the management team with the development and implementation of revenue and marketing programs across all outlets and room service.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare sales-related documents including proposals contracts and banquet event orders
  • Promote awareness of brand image internally and externally
  • Gather materials and assemble information packages such as brochures and promotional materials
  • Use sales techniques to maximize revenue while maintaining existing guest loyalty to Marriott
  • Assist management in developing implementing and executing revenue and marketing programs for all outlets and room service
  • Develop coordinate and implement social media initiatives and beverage promotional programs
  • Enter retrieve reconcile and verify information in software involved in the sales process
  • Answer guest questions about property facilities services hours of operation rates room types packages promotions entertainment restaurants and special events
  • Serve as point of contact for clients responding to questions and requests by phone and email
  • Coordinate reservation confirmations for special and holiday events for parties of six or more
  • Coordinate selling of all food and beverage in hospitality suites through Room Service Department
  • Perform general office duties such as filing sending emails typing faxing and copying
  • Report accidents injuries and unsafe work conditions to manager
  • Follow all company policies procedures and maintain professional personal appearance
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards and anticipate service needs
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language and prepare written documents accurately
  • Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships and support team goals
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards
  • Perform physical tasks including lifting carrying standing and walking for extended periods
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested
