The Marshes of Skidaway Island is currently seeking a hospitality-focused Food & Beverage Manager to become a vital part of its Culinary Services team. This exempt leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of dining room operations, ensuring outstanding service delivery and memorable dining experiences for residents, families, and guests. The Food & Beverage Manager works closely with other department leaders, including the Food & Beverage Director, Executive Chef, and Catering & Events Manager, to uphold the highest standards of hospitality, cleanliness, and professionalism. With a hands-on leadership approach, this position demands a servant leader passionate about hospitality, team development, and enriching the lives of older adults.

As the Food & Beverage Manager, you will be delivering an exceptional hospitality experience every day by fostering a warm, welcoming, and resident-centered dining atmosphere. Your responsibilities will include managing the daily front-of-house operations, maintaining service standards, ensuring cleanliness and safety across all dining venues, and keeping dining areas well stocked and operational. You will lead, coach, train, and develop dining room staff, promoting a culture of teamwork and accountability while managing employee scheduling, performance, and ongoing training.

This leadership position requires a strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service standards, as well as proficiency with point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office applications. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three to five years of experience in food and beverage management, preferably in luxury senior living, hospitality, private clubs, hotels, or upscale restaurants. Physical stamina to perform the demands of dining room operations, a professional demeanor, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays are essential.

Job Duties

  • Deliver an exceptional hospitality experience for residents, families, and guests every day
  • Foster a warm, welcoming, and resident-centered dining environment
  • Build positive relationships with residents and respond promptly and professionally to service concerns and requests
  • Ensure food quality, appearance, presentation, and service standards are consistently achieved
  • Oversee the daily front-of-house operations across all dining venues, ensuring seamless meal service and adherence to established service standards
  • Ensure dining rooms and service areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and organization
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and ensure the dining room is properly stocked and operational at all times
  • Monitor dining room service to ensure standards of speed, accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism are upheld
  • Assist with service during meal periods as needed, including taking orders, delivering meals, and interacting with residents and guests
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop dining room service staff
  • Conduct employee scheduling, performance management, counseling, and ongoing training
  • Train team members on customer service excellence, serving techniques, table settings, and workstation organization
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, engagement, and hospitality
  • Ensure tables are appropriately set and dining areas are presentation-ready
  • Answer questions regarding menu selections and dining services
  • Support meal service by clearing tables and assisting with dishwashing and other operational duties when needed
  • Collaborate closely with Culinary Services leadership to ensure seamless service delivery
