Known for its commitment to excellence and innovation in culinary education, the CIA has established itself as a leading institution offering comprehensive programs that combine rigorous academic study with hands-on experience. The college operates various dining outlets, including renowned restaurants and special event venues, providing authentic culinary experiences to students and guests alike. Its commitment to quality extends beyond education, encompassing exceptional food and beverage operations that reflect its high standards and dedication to guest satisfaction.
This position is for a Food and Beverage (F&B) Manager at the CIA, a pivotal role responsible for managing and delegating all front of house (FOH) service aspects across multiple dining outlets such as the Restaurant, Grove, 3D Dining, and various special events. The F&B Manager ensures operational efficiency and upholds the highest standards of guest service and satisfaction. This role entails a hands-on approach with frequent floor presence to assist guests and support the front of house team. The manager actively monitors service quality, coaches staff on sales techniques and customer interaction, and enforces policies and procedures that maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards.
Financial acumen is a critical component of the role, as the manager collaborates with the Senior Director to meet departmental financial goals, including food, beverage, and labor cost control and budget preparation. The position involves overseeing staff training, scheduling, performance evaluations, payroll management, and ensuring compliance with regulations related to food safety, alcohol service, and cash handling. The manager also coordinates marketing efforts and special event planning, maintaining inventory and operational systems like Micros and Open Table.
The CIA offers a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $80,000 annually for this position, with the final offer contingent on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Beyond salary, the CIA provides a substantial benefits package that includes medical coverage at no cost to qualifying employees, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, a retirement savings plan with significant employer contributions, and a generous paid time off program. These benefits contribute significant value to the overall compensation and underscore the CIA’s commitment to employee well-being.
Working as an F&B Manager at the CIA provides an opportunity to be part of a prestigious institution where culinary excellence is paramount. The role demands strong leadership, organizational skills, customer service proficiency, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Employees are expected to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and must be capable of handling physical demands such as standing for long periods and lifting moderate weights. This comprehensive role offers professional growth within a supportive environment dedicated to culinary arts and food service excellence.
