The Food & Beverage Front of House (FOH) Supervisor role is an exciting leadership opportunity within PENN Entertainment. This position is responsible for supervising and managing staff in the Food & Beverage FOH department, ensuring operational goals are met while delivering an exceptional customer experience. The supervisor will develop and implement scheduling strategies that balance labor costs and staffing objectives, all while maintaining high standards of guest satisfaction. They will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and engaging work atmosphere through effective staff development and training programs, alongside driving rewards and recognition initiatives to maximize employee engagement.
The FOH Supervisor also upholds stringent health, safety, and quality standards within the department, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, including gaming laws. They are responsible for managing daily operations such as scheduling, floor plans, and team member evaluations. The role requires a hands-on leader who exhibits superior customer service, addresses issues promptly, and maintains confidentiality in all business matters. Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Four years of related supervisory or managerial experience
- Previous supervisory experience in a high volume or full service restaurant
- Ability to interact with guests and staff and resolve conflicts diplomatically
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence
- Ability to perform basic math functions including rate, ratio, and percent calculations
- Flexibility to work any shift including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook
- Excellent communication, motivational, and customer service skills
- Experience in staff training and development
- Experience in employee performance management
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university
- Four years of related supervisory or managerial experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous supervisory experience in a full service or high volume restaurant preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook
- Ability to resolve conflicts diplomatically and tactfully
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Strong mathematical skills including the ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and interpret graphs
- Flexible to work all shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Experience in staff development and training
- Experience in rewards and recognition programs
- Performance evaluation and constructive feedback delivery skills
- Staffing, interviewing, hiring, and scheduling experience
- Knowledge of safety and compliance practices
Job Duties
- Supervise and manage staff in the Food & Beverage FOH department
- Develop and implement operational goals and monitor performance and profit objectives
- Create effective schedules while managing labor costs and meeting staffing objectives
- Promote and ensure superior customer service standards are followed
- Develop and administer staff training and development programs
- Manage rewards and recognition initiatives to maximize employee engagement
- Maintain cost control through inventory and pars monitoring
- Ensure compliance with health department and regulatory standards
- Oversee day-to-day FOH operations including scheduling, breaks, and floor plans
- Evaluate and provide feedback to team members
- Handle employee performance management including coaching and disciplinary actions
- Ensure knowledge and enforcement of gaming laws and regulations related to F&B department
