Job Description
The Legacy Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel by Marriott, is an upcoming upscale hospitality establishment set to open its doors in 2026 in Medina, Ohio. This striking new hotel will feature 77 beautifully appointed guest rooms and suites, offering guests a combination of luxury and comfort. The hotel is designed to become a landmark destination, celebrating Medina's rich culture, history, and community spirit. It boasts thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor gathering spaces alongside multiple distinctive food and beverage venues, catering to a diverse range of guests and events. As part of Marriott's Tribute Portfolio, the hotel embraces a boutique hotel experience with a focus on unique stories and vibrant atmospheres that reflect the local essence.
The Food and Beverage Director role at The Legacy Hotel represents a pivotal leadership opportunity within a dynamic, pre-opening hospitality environment. This executive role carries full operational and financial responsibility for all food and beverage operations across the hotel’s multiple on-property venues, including restaurants and event spaces. The director will be accountable for driving performance, establishing a strong service-oriented culture, and ensuring adherence to Marriott brand standards of excellence.
This position requires an accomplished, hands-on leader with extensive experience in full-service and high-end food and beverage operations, ideally within the hotel or luxury restaurant sectors. The Food and Beverage Director will lead the pre-opening efforts by recruiting, hiring, and developing a top-tier leadership team capable of delivering exceptional guest experiences from day one. Building a culture grounded in hospitality excellence, accountability, and community connection is essential to the role.
The director will oversee staffing strategies, training programs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and operational readiness to seamlessly launch the property. Further responsibilities include managing all department scheduling, planning assignments, and directing various projects to ensure operational efficiency. The leader will maintain direct engagement with guests and community leaders to foster loyalty and enhance the hotel's reputation as a premier hospitality destination.
Financial stewardship is a core aspect of the role, with the Food and Beverage Director charged with delivering robust top-line revenue growth and bottom-line profitability. Developing and executing annual budgets, optimizing labor and cost controls, managing product inventories, and participating in menu development and pricing strategies are integral responsibilities. The director will also ensure compliance with all state regulations, OSHA standards, and Marriott brand requirements related to safety, sanitation, and health.
In addition to operational leadership, the Food and Beverage Director will play a critical role in community engagement and market presence. They will cultivate strategic partnerships, support proactive sales initiatives, and position The Legacy Hotel as the preferred choice for lodging, dining, and events in Medina. The property's distinctive food and beverage venues—Lily Jean’s, Privato, La Vista, and Locale at the Legacy Event Center—offer diverse and upscale dining and event experiences, making high-end restaurant leadership experience especially valuable.
The role comes with a competitive executive compensation package commensurate with experience, comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) plan, and offers career growth within a thriving hospitality organization. This position is full-time, requires weekend availability in addition to Monday through Friday schedules, and is based on-site in Medina, Ohio.
Joining The Legacy Hotel’s leadership team is a unique opportunity to be part of something defining—building a new property from the ground up, establishing its culture and standards, and setting the tone for a landmark hotel that will serve as a cornerstone of the Medina community for years to come.
