The Food & Beverage Coordinator role at Oak View Group is pivotal in delivering excellent food and beverage service across all catered and concession events within the venues. In this role, the Food & Beverage Coordinator is charged with the seamless coordination of catering and concessions operations, including the management of scheduling, ordering, inventory control, labor cost oversight, and equipment maintenance. The incumbent ensures that all aspects of food and beverage operations are legally compliant, efficient, and profitable, aligning with Oak View Group’s high operational standards. The role also demands keen financial acumen for generating and analyzing budgets, forecasts, and profit and loss statements to maintain fiscal discipline.

Beyond operational management, the Coordinator serves as a critical point of contact for guests during events, coordinating meal and beverage services, including alcoholic beverages, while ensuring compliance with legal age restrictions. They must be vigilant in guest interaction, responding to requests, resolving conflicts, and ensuring safety and comfort for all attendees. Administrative responsibilities include managing event paperwork such as diagrams, timelines, and side-work assignments, while also overseeing setup and inventory for banquet functions.

This position requires strong leadership and interpersonal skills to coach, counsel, and manage food and beverage staff effectively while fostering a positive work environment that encourages cooperation and enthusiasm. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food handling certificate or alcohol service permit as per state or federal regulations
  • 1-2 years of food and beverage experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask
  • Excellent organizational skills

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in business management or hospitality preferred but will consider relevant work experience
  • 1-2 years of experience working in a food and beverage capacity in a high-volume fast-paced restaurant or catering environment
  • Capable of operating in Microsoft Office applications including Excel Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate with employees co-workers volunteers management staff and guests in a clear business-like and respectful manner that focuses on generating a positive enthusiastic and cooperative work environment
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented fast-paced event-driven environment
  • Possess a valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by state or federal regulations
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly
  • Ability to calculate basic math functions addition subtraction multiplication division percentages as they relate to POS cash credit transactions cash reconciliation and product inventory

Job Duties

  • Coordination of catering and concessions food and beverage operations including scheduling ordering inventory labor costs and equipment maintenance
  • Ensure legal efficient professional and profitable operation of the venue
  • Generate and review financial reports including budgets projections forecasting revenue analysis disbursements capital investments labor and product costs wage and salary control and P&L financial statements
  • Conflict resolution last-resort mediation arbitration and labor negotiations when applicable
  • Responsible for coordinating the serving of meals to guests or directing guests to the buffet line
  • Responsible for coordinating beverage service to guests including alcoholic beverages
  • Check the guest's ID to verify the minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages
