Granger's Restaurant & Bar is a distinguished upscale-casual neighborhood dining establishment located in the heart of Houston's vibrant museum district. Granger's prides itself on crafting every menu item from scratch daily, presenting food with both elegance and care. The establishment boasts a rich history rooted in the local community, with its owners Ryan and Josephine Granger also successfully operating two fast-casual concepts, Bodegas Tacos Shop and Fia's Pizzeria, for nearly two decades. Granger's Restaurant & Bar is currently seeking an experienced and hospitality-driven Front of the House Hospitality Manager to lead its service team and elevate the guest experience. This role carries significant responsibility as it involves overseeing restaurant operations, ensuring a perfect ambiance before every shift, managing staff scheduling within budget, and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction. The Hospitality Manager will lead training and development initiatives to reduce turnover while coaching new managers and employees. They will be deeply involved in daily management activities such as following the manager's agenda and opening and closing procedures, overseeing staff hiring and onboarding processes, and attending manager meetings.
Additionally, this position requires collaboration with the kitchen team to guarantee food quality and manage various operational functions including budgeting, payroll, and marketing execution. The manager will ensure compliance with state and local laws and uphold company policies at all times. The role also involves comprehensive knowledge of POS systems and facilitating guest satisfaction on every shift. Compensation ranges from $65,000 to $70,000 annually, accompanied by bonus pay and benefits including paid time off, paid training, and employee discounts. This full-time position demands up to 50-55 hours per week, including weekend shifts, with working hours generally spanning 10-hour shifts. Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience
- Must have Texas Food Handlers and TABC Certifications
- Ability to stand for 10 hours at a time
- Ability to work 50-55 hours per week including weekends
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
- Must work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Must be emotionally intelligent
- Must be alert to management, staff, and customer needs
- Must be self-motivated and have a positive attitude
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Ability to carry out physical position requirements
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years management experience
- College degree preferred but not required
- Experience managing upscale restaurants for at least 2 years
- Detailed knowledge of front and back of house management
- Proficiency in budgeting, staff scheduling, interviewing, training, and shift supervision
- Possession of Texas Food Handlers and TABC Certifications
- Strong passion for food and beverage
- Positive attitude and solution-oriented mindset

Job Duties
- Follows daily manager’s agenda and opening and closing checklists for all departments
- Ensures restaurant appearance inside and outside is up to company standards prior to every shift
- Assumes responsibility for his/her departments ensuring schedules align with budget and coverage for customer satisfaction
- Performs all staff training and development to minimize turnover
- Coaches new managers and employees per shift according to job descriptions, policies, and procedures
- Reviews incoming front of house hourly applications and conducts initial interviews
- Onboards GM approved front of house hourly hires
- Attends and participates in manager meetings
- Assigns weekly goals to staff and ensures completion while achieving own goals set by general manager
- Operates property in compliance with all state and local laws and ordinances
- Maintains commitment to management and employee development
- Ensures all receiving is physically accounted for at quoted price
- Keeps all staff training material updated including Employee Handbook and training manuals
- Coordinates with accounting for reports like daily sales reports, profit and loss, budget, and payroll
- Assists general manager with marketing strategies
- Collaborates with kitchen teams to assure quality food products
- Trains staff in all POS functions and software
- Guarantees 100 percent guest satisfaction during shifts
- Upholds company policies and operating manuals
