Floor Technician

Offering a competitive pay rate of $22.98 per hour and operating from 1:00pm to 10:00pm Monday through Friday, Chimes provides a stable work environment with full-time employment benefits for those working more than 30 hours per week.

The Floor Technician position is a hands-on role involving manual labor to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of floor surfaces within federal buildings. This role demands a high level of attention to detail, physical stamina, and adherence to safety and security procedures. The technician will perform a variety of floor care duties including sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing, and using various floor maintenance machines. The position also requires handling cleaning chemicals safely, performing maintenance on equipment, and ensuring all assigned areas meet contract specifications. This role is essential for maintaining the professional appearance and safety standards of federal facilities. The successful candidate will also assist with inventory management, custodial duties, and equipment upkeep.

Working within the federal environment means employees must be adaptable and able to follow strict guidelines for health safety, including uniform dress codes and personal hygiene standards. The job requires physical abilities such as prolonged standing or walking, stair navigation, bending, kneeling, lifting items up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently, follow detailed maintenance programs, and prioritize safety in all tasks. The role includes engaging positively with coworkers and adhering to all security and operational protocols.
