Job Description

Sunstates Security is one of the largest and fastest-growing privately held security companies in the United States, founded in 1998. The company has earned a national reputation for delivering exceptional security services while fostering high-quality work environments for its employees. Known for its commitment to excellence, Sunstates Security invests in its workforce by offering competitive benefits, extensive training, career advancement opportunities, and substantial employee recognition programs. Dedicated to strategic reinvestment in its people, the company provides tools, knowledge, and hands-on management support to help team members succeed long-term. The organization's core values—honor, integrity, and trust—are central to everything it does, consistently contributing to a superior workplace culture. This dedication has earned Sunstates several prestigious recognitions, including the 2026 Forbes Dream Employer award, based on independent employee feedback and workplace excellence, the Training MVP award from Training Magazine for three consecutive years, and a steady presence on the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies.

The Flex Security Officer role at Sunstates Security offers a unique and critical position within the company’s operational framework. This position is designed to provide flexible, trained, and competent security support across multiple posts in the Inland Empire area, including Fontana, San Bernardino, Riverside, Moreno Valley, and Perris. Working as a Flex Security Officer means filling in open shifts caused by illness, call-offs, weather, vacations, or other causes. This flexibility ensures continuous, uninterrupted service for Sunstates clients while maintaining the well-being and work-life balance of the regular staff. The role offers a competitive hourly wage of $23, with a potential increase to $25 after a 90-day probationary period, contingent on training completion, attendance, and reliability. This hourly, as-needed position requires the officer to be fully flexible regarding shift types such as day, swing, and night shifts.

The Flex Security Officer will be trained at various sites according to operational needs and may be relocated frequently, with no fixed post assignments. Scheduling is dynamic, often involving short-notice calls to cover shifts, with expectations to work at least 80% of these offers to maintain good standing with the company. Responsibilities include becoming thoroughly knowledgeable of post orders and standard operating procedures (SOP), responding effectively to situations, and acting in accordance with company guidelines. The role involves essential functions such as gate management, concierge duties, and two-way radio communications. Officers are required to maintain strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. This position is ideal for someone seeking variety, professional growth, and the chance to contribute to a nationally recognized security provider that values its employees and promotes a culture of honor and trust.
