The Fleet Safety Specialist role at Moss focuses on supporting and advancing the company’s comprehensive non-DOT fleet safety program. This full-time position plays a crucial part in administering the fleet safety processes, monitoring driver performance through telematics and dash camera data, coordinating thorough incident follow-ups, and delivering targeted safety training. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with a solid background in fleet safety, transportation safety, or risk management. The successful candidate must be adept at analyzing data from various fleet safety technology platforms, including Geotab and dash camera systems, to ensure compliance and identify unsafe driving behaviors promptly. The Fleet Safety Specialist also works in partnership with the DOT Safety Specialist and Director of Fleet Safety & DOT Compliance when handling DOT-regulated drivers or vehicles, ensuring a cohesive and compliant safety strategy across all fleet operations.
The position demands up to 20 percent travel within the United States to provide fleet safety training, conduct safety audits, and support various safety initiatives on-site. The role is pivotal in promoting ongoing safety awareness campaigns and delivering engaging training sessions designed to maintain compliance with Moss’s safety policies and applicable regulations. Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of fleet safety, transportation safety, risk management, or EHS experience
- Strong knowledge of non-DOT fleet safety principles
- Vehicle incident prevention skills
- Driver behavior management abilities

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of fleet safety, transportation safety, risk management, or EHS experience
- Strong knowledge of non-DOT fleet safety principles, vehicle incident prevention, driver behavior management and fleet risk mitigation
- Ability to analyze telematics, dash camera, accident, MVR and other fleet safety data
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver effective training and communicate with employees at all organizational levels
- Strong organizational, documentation and follow-up skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Familiarity with fleet safety and analytics systems such as Geotab, SharePoint, Dash camera and Intelex preferred
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with field teams, leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience conducting vehicle accident investigations
- Knowledge of fleet safety best practices, insurance claims, and driver behavior management
- Ability to travel, up to 20% of the time to various locations throughout the United States to deliver training programs and to conduct file audits
Job Duties
- Coordinate the administration of the companys non-DOT fleet safety program in partnership with the Director of Fleet Safety & DOT Compliance
- Assist with implementation and maintenance of fleet safety policies, procedures, and driver safety initiatives
- Coordinate company vehicle accident reporting, documentation, and follow-up activities
- Assist with vehicle accident investigations by gathering documentation, interviewing drivers, and maintaining investigation files
- Monitor telematics, dash camera events, and driver performance reports to identify unsafe driving behaviors and communicate findings to field leadership
- Coordinate driver coaching assignments and monitor completion of corrective actions following vehicle incidents or unsafe driving events
- Monitor Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) reports for non-regulated drivers and communicate driver eligibility concerns to management
